Handmade Christmas Gifts

By Victoria Q

Giving out and receiving gifts is a very special moment. It makes it even more meaningful because that’s not something we can do every day. We get excited and can’t wait to see what we will receive. At the same time, we’re also worrying whether the receivers will like the gifts we bought for them.

Shopping for gifts can be stressful because we often try our best to get the perfect gift for each person. Choosing and buying a gift shows how deeply you understand the receiver. This included how much you know about the receiver’s like and dislike, how important is the receiver to you, and how you define your relationship with the receiver also define the value of the gift. Choosing a gift is not something simple, and it requires a lot of homework.

Also, there’s no guarantee that we can find everything we want in one place so, most of the time we have to travel to different places to get them. Sometimes, we get overwhelmed when we can’t find the perfect gifts we want to give out. This causes us to have a mental breakdown even before the festive season begins.

For me, I choose to make my own gifts instead of buying, which makes the holiday season feel even “real” to me and the receivers. Giving handmade gifts makes it unique because there isn’t somewhere else can find the same gifts.

This year I’m giving out handmade baked goods. I’m not an expert yet, but I can proudly say that my baked goods are delicious. I’m giving to a lot of people this year because more and more people enjoy eating my baked goods. So, I’ll probably spend the whole weekends baking. I also wanted to try out a new recipe I’ve been thinking about lately but I’m not sure if I’m able to make it because I don’t have much time on my hands left before Christmas.

I’m thinking of making different baked goods for each person based on their favourite. This can take a lot of works but, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it. I love to express myself via writing and baked goods. When I appreciate a relationship, I won’t mind going through different recipes to find the best-baked goods for each person.

How about you all? Have you decided on your Christmas gifts?
