After a long day of work, your nights are probably spending hours scrolling on social media, binge-watching Nexflix while snacking or drinking. When you don’t realise, it’s already 11 pm and the night is calling at you. And the next day, you do the same and repeating it.
It sounds amazing to spend time on whatever you want but we can make the best out of it. You can do more than spending your whole night on electronic devices.
1. Enjoy Your Favourite Meal
This sounds easy but most of the people don’t know how to enjoy their meal – getting too hungry after work so they just eat whatever in the fridge or grab anything on the way back home. Plan what you want to eat for dinner during lunchtime. If you can cook, research the recipe and write down what you need to get. If you can’t, research where can you get the food so you can move right away after work.
2. Move Your Body
We know you probably prefer to lie down after a day of hard work. But, that’s not a good idea. Give your body some exercise after spending a half-day sitting in front of the computer. Don’t know what exercise to do? Don’t worry! There’re tons of workout app out there to download or you can go to Youtube. We recommended pilates for relaxing, toning and strengthening.
You don’t have to be a professional beautician to groom yourself – just some basic kinds of stuff will do. All you need is a body and face scrub, a face sheet mask and a nail clipper. A simple beauty routine can help reduce stress, anxiety and depression. Set time ahead to do a full skin, hair and nail/toe regimen because you work hard and you deserve a little self-care.
4. Spend Time with Loved Ones
When was the last time you spend an hour or two on the phone with your loved ones who live far away from you? Give them a call to catch up on their lives and you will not regret doing this. If you’re living in the same house, spend dinnertime together and have a conversation by asking each other how’s the day goes by.
5. Get Cozy And Drink Tea
Grab a blanket, light up a scented candle, switch off the main light, unplug your phone, make a cup of tea and enjoy stargazing or do nothing. Sounds great? Give it a try tonight! If tea isn’t your thing, that’s fine, have whatever you like except alcohol and coffee. Researchers show drinking alcohol or coffee before bed harm the quality of sleep.
6. Working On Your Hobbies
Whether it is reading, painting, drawing or baking, list down your hobbies and plan out when to do them. Making time for your hobbies can rejuvenate you and create inspiration. It also can bring more balance into your life.
